House Insurance - Basic coverage
Civil Liability
Civil liability protects you against any property damage and physical injury you could involuntarily cause to others. It is valid all around the world.
We recommend a minimal amount of 2 000 000$ in civil liability to protect you against unexpected situations.
Property Damage
- For owners, this insurance covers, amongst others, the building, personal belongings, outbuildings and necessary living expenses.
- For tenants, this insurance protects all your personal belongings and provides you with the necessary living expenses.
- For co-owners, this insurance protects all your personal belongings, leasehold improvements and provides you with the necessary living expenses. It also covers common areas if not included in the contract of co-ownership.
As opposed to civil liability, a deductible - a specific amount of money you have to pay from your pocket - applies when you make a claim.
Three insurance packages are offered to you, whether you live in a condo, an apartment or a house:
- All Perils
This protection covers your buildings and your personal belongings against all risks, except for general exclusions. It is the most complete coverage (buildings and/or personal belongings all risks). - Extended House Insurance
This protection covers your buildings against all risks except for general exclusions. However, it also protects your personal belongings against a limited number of risks (all risks for buildings, specified risks for personal property). - Basic House Insurance
This protection covers only a limited number of risks (building and/or personal belongings with specific risks).
You can also choose from a range of additional coverage options to add to your underlying contract to ensure your insurance fits your needs.
